Nectarine
Prunus persica var. nucipersica

Nectarine is a variant of the peach with non-fuzzy skin, of uncertain origin. Its large-scale farming in Spain began in the mid-twentieth century, with the introduction of new irrigation techniques and the introduction of varieties developed in the United States.
It is a fruit rich in vitamins A and C and high in fiber, antioxidants and water. It has potassium, magnesium and phosphorus. They are usually consumed fresh, although they are also very popular in preserves, jams and desserts.
The spots on its skin indicate that it is a very sweet piece, they are a display of crystallized sugar.
At Cal Roget we harvest nectarines from June to October.
Paraguayan
Prunus persica var. platycarpa

The Paraguayan originated in China as a natural mutation of the peach. It presents a range of green and reddish tones, although there are also yellow varieties, and they have a whitish and pale pulp.
Its nutritional properties are very similar to those of the peach: it is a fruit rich in fiber, vitamins A and C, water and potassium and low in calories.
At CalRoget we work with flat peaches from June to September.
